I just wanted to make this short game about a small quarrel between kids. Luke took Sarah’s ball and Luke just wants to play with the ball, but Kyle is stuck between the crossfire. They’re all good friends most of the time, but there will be moments in life when friends argue, even over small things that don’t mean much to others. What’s important is that a compromise is made so that everyone can continue to get along.

The theme I chose isn’t too serious but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth talking about. This game may just be about a group of kids fighting about a ball, but even adults argue with each other, which leads to no one communicating with each other. That’s what I want to present with this game. I want to show that making things right between others can lead to good things in relationships, and that refusing to take that next step in communication can lead to regret.

The feel of the game is lighthearted, as there isn’t much to the gameplay or the narrative, but it still gets its point across. Nothing is solved until the problem is addressed and talked about, I purposefully made the exit to the ending locked to illustrate this in the game. Every fight has a cause and the only way to make up is to understand why the fight took place in the first place. I believe the immersion of the game comes from learning where each character stands in the game and how you may feel for them.
